Green Tea Power!

So much has been said and written about Green Tea recently; it's many health benefits, and it's undeniably proven antioxident properties.

However there is more to this tea than was originally thought. It also possesses anti-inflammatory and detoxification capabilities, especially in connection with the liver's ability to remove toxins from your body.

It also enhances the digestive process, helping to cleanse the bowel hence preventing wastes from being re-absorbed into your system.

So enjoy your Green Tea all year round!

Quote Of The Week

How often do we receive encouragement from a family member or friend, a kind word or a helping hand when our workload seems to overwhelm us? And how many of us express our gratitude by word, thought or deed?

As this New Year progresses let one of our resolutions be to feel gratitude from our hearts each and every day for all the blessings we receive.

I like this quote from Albert Schweitzer which puts this in such a succinct and clear way.

"At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person.
Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us"

New Year Detox

Now that the festive season is just a memory, everyone is talking about losing those extra few inches we have gained, detoxing and starting the New Year afresh.

I like to eat my normal foods, but consume a little less; and substitute that after dinner slice of cake or chocolate with some fresh fruit or yogurt.

Green leaf salads are the best and most nutritious of summer meals, baby spinach (for it's iron content), rocket and all the many diverse types of lettuce make great side or main course staples. Don't forget to supplement with chlorella, spirulina or barley grass to help detox and alkalize your body, it will thank you with increased vitality and most importantly a decrease in those few extra pounds! Fill up on summer fruits and vegs. a little fish, and organic chicken, and you will be well on the way to a new, healthier you.

If you live in the northern hemisphere and are experiencing the chill of winter, why not make a delicious vegetable soup. Just add some chopped celery, carrot sweet potato, a can of tomatoes, garlic and a few herbs to a litre of vegetable stock, and simmer till the vegs. are soft. It will warm you as well as helping with your detox.
