The Importance Of Vitamin D

We need Vitamin D to help keep our bones strong, but did you know that this vitamin may also help to protect your brain from mental decline?

As we age our bodies have more difficulty in producing vitamin D, of which sunshine is the best source.

Try for a little time in the sun every day, 10 to 15 minutes is sufficient in summer before 11am or after 3pm (when the sun is not so fierce), and a little longer in winter months.

If this isn't possible for you, take a good quality Cod liver oil supplement, also eat salmon, mackerel, and eggs which are all good sources.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today is the day when Love is everyone's major focus! But why not make every day a day for giving unconditional love to everyone you meet?

Even a smile will brighten someone's day, a kind word or a thoughtful deed may positively affect someone's life more than you will ever know. We are all on our own journey through life and these seemingly small gifts may well turn someone's life around.

Oils For health And Beauty

I am a great advocate of natural oils, here a few of my favorites which will enhance your inner health as well as soften and improve the texture of your skin.

Olive Oil. Choose extra virgin where possible. Olive oil is great for adding to salads and vegetable dishes,it contains not only Omega 3 and 6, but also Vitamin E and Polyphenols.

Flaxseed oil is high in Omega 3 and has great anti-inflammatory properties which help conditions such as asthma, arthritis, and eczema.

Wheatgerm Oil is a very nutrient rich oil and is excellent for mature or dry and dehydrated skin, and is also great to use on salads or stir fry vegetables.
