Stress And The Festive Season

As we approach the busiest time of the year - the festive season, it is so easy to become overwhelmed by the pressure of extra work, socializing (yes even this can be stressful!), shopping, and the million other tasks which seem to present themselves.

Here are some stress helpers to ease you through until after the New Year celebrations.

1. Supplement with B group vitamins and Magnesium. Magnesium is excellent for relaxing muscles.

2. Even when you are busy, finding 10 minutes to relax can be a life saver. Close your eyes and take a deep breath, slowly release and repeat this several times and feel your mind clear and your vision sharpen. Drawing this extra oxygen into your body will give much needed energy and vitality.

3. Indulge in a relaxing bath with a few drops of calming Lavender or Geranium essential oils at the end of the day to prepare you for a deep restful, restoring sleep.

These simple strategies will help you sail through the festive season and emerge into 2010 without feeling drained and exhausted.

Favourite Quotes

I have been coming across many quotes during the course of my week, and I would like to share those that really make an impression on me. Here is the first, which made me more aware of the importance of our modern holistic and natural healing modalities.

" In every culture and in every medical tradition before ours, healing was accomplished by moving energy."

Albers Szent - Gyorgyi,
Nobel Laureate in Medicine.

Self Confidence Part 2.

Here are some more strategies to help you gain back your self confidence, and keep it!

1. Recognize and accept yourself as a unique person, without making comparisons to others who you perceive are better able to cope with their life, or who seem to be in a better situation.

2. If you are confronted with a situation which may seem daunting, see it as a challenge and a solution will be given as you work your way through it.

3. Where possible avoid negative people and situations, as they may lessen your self confidence.

4. Recognize that if anyone tries to defame you or put you down, it may be that they are envious of you, your situation, your home, career or any number of other things, if so it is only because of their own lack of self confidence or self esteem.

Practice these strategies every day and watch your self confidence soar!
