To me Lavender evokes memories of my Grandfather's garden, lazy summer afternoons, and an abundance of bees. To some people Lavender is just an old fashioned plant with a powerful perfume, but it has many amazing, and some little known properties.
Maybe the essential oil is best known as a relaxant assisting deep, relaxing sleep patterns. For this use a few drops in a vaporizer, along with a little carrier oil such as Sweet Almond oil, or add a few drops to your pillow.
Another important use is it's ability to relieve stress related headaches, add a few drops to a cool damp washer, lie down in a cool quiet place and apply it to your forehead.
Tip: Firstly put it in the fridge for a few minutes to assist the cooling and soothing process.
Try this for a real treat... add a few drops to your evening bath and soak for 20 minutes. You will find it is a real stress reliever after a difficult and stressful day. You will sink into bed feeling relaxed and calm.
Carry a small bottle with you to ease the pain of insect bites and scratches, and combine with a natural unscented cream to assist skin healing.
Lavender is one of the most versatile and well used oils and I would recommend it has a place in every home.
