We are surrounded by noise 24/7, and some are at uncomfortable levels which disturb our calm and sense of well-being, and also our health. Some examples of these are low flying aircraft, the screeching of brakes (especially those of large trucks), or ultra loud music.
How can we find peace and tranquillity in today's busy world? These techniques really do work and with continued use will improve your sense of peace and boost your ability to deal with life's up's and downs.
Develop an "inner silence". Our minds are capable of blocking out even loud noise. Try using an affirmation such as "I am peaceful", or "I have inner calm".
Breathe deeply two or three times, (in through your nose, and out through your mouth), and say inwardly "I breathe in peace, I breathe out all stress and anxiety".
I have personally found that the pure act of concentration in immersing myself in my writing eliminates all background noise, wherever I happen to be. This act of concentration alone can be a huge benefit.
One thing I try to do each and every day is to set aside a quiet time to connect with nature. This I find is the most beneficial and calming experience and worth every minute I spend.
Try it for yourself, you will be glad you did!

Perfect Health In Today's World
I am a strong believer in "making our food our medicine" but these days much of our food including fresh fruit and vegetables is contaminated by pesticides and fungicides, and is lacking the nutrients our bodies need due to soils which have been over-used and stripped of their natural goodness.
A few of the supplements I recommend to keep your body and mind in good health are:
A "green" powder, either Spirulina, Chlorella, or Barley Grass (for inner cleanliness and to help detoxification), calcium and magnesium (for bone health), a probiotic (for intestinal health), fish oil capsules (for heart and brain), and lastly Vitamin D.
So much has been written about the sunshine vitamin recently and it's importance is becoming widely recognized, not only for assisting calcium absorption and bone strength but it has also been shown to help reduce the symptoms of depression, and other benefits are still being researched.

Life's Little Secrets No. 30
Intuition - The Secret Gift
Intuition or sixth sense, everyone has it, but what is it?
I would describe it as an inner knowing or a tapping into Universal knowledge.
The question is how can we access this knowledge?
First, relax, close your eyes and just let thoughts of the answer you are seeking flow through your mind: one will feel right, and with practice you will soon become adept at receiving the answer which resonates with your query.
